Retreat at Lake Kivu

Dear Sir or Madam,
Never Again International, Rwanda, a civil society, grassroots organization made up of students, graduates and young professionals is seeking to create a multi-media human rights resource and research library at our home office in Kigali, Rwanda. The aim of the library is to create Rwanda’s most substantial and inclusive collection of human rights-related materials and documents (books, periodicals, journals, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, CD-ROMs, VHS, etc) for use by Rwandan youth, students and the general populace. We aim to make the material specially available to secondary and tertiary students who, at this time, do not have important research material available with regards to the history of Rwanda, the genocide of 1994, regional conflicts, and anything related to the myriad human rights issues that exist in global society today (poverty, HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, democracy, good governance, free speech, impartial media/communication etc). The list can go on. We have already begun the library, but there is still a dearth of these materials in Rwanda. We are seeking to change that.
Never Again International was founded at the Institute for International Mediation and Conflict Resolution’s 2001 symposium at The Hague when a group of young professionals and students created a collaborative international partnership. Originally, it was an initiative of students but now as the initial founders have graduated from universities, a strong and permanent link has been created between those who graduated and those that remain students and new members of the organization. In particular, Never Again International, Rwanda, has fast become a strong civil society organization with the aim of seeking alternatives and creative means of preventing, managing and resolving conflicts mainly focusing on the youth. We have already been quite successful in achieving our aim through forums and debates that promote dialogue, peace camps and, in the near future, we will be launching a national youth magazine. There is always more work to be done.
We are hoping that by creating this resource and research library our aims, as both an organization and a country, to promote human rights and reconciliation will progress. We are asking if you or your organization would like to become a part of this youth and young adult-led movement by contributing books, materials, subscriptions, equipment, documents or anything else you may have laying around to Never Again International, Rwanda. Anything that you can provide would be greatly appreciated: from a pamphlet to a collection, we are open to anything that you are willing to donate. The donation can be in Kinya-Rwanda, KiSwahili, French or English.
Whatever you wish to contribute can be sent to one of the two addresses provided below (Rwanda, UK or USA).
