Most of our conversations happen off the wiki, on project pages (above) or on people's own user pages, but there are people here who keep an eye out and will respond to any messages posted. Anything that turns into a conversation or that should be highlighted amongst the community more explicitly will be posted here for as long as it is current. Don't forget, you need to sign up for a username before you can do anything on the wiki.

Wiki gardening

Looking for a little bit of displacement activity? Help improve our wiki!

Beginners (some exploration of the help pages may be needed):

  • Explore and revive pages that you think deserve attention by updating them
  • Oh, this really is displacement: use the Template:Category index to categorise more of our old pages. Go mad - copy and paste {{Subst:Category index}} at the bottom of the page, save and edit again to weed out categories as applicable.
  • Add resources to the Library
  • Add more links into text in articles to outside resources or internal pages - it's all about hypertextuality
  • help improve the Help pages with your new discoveries that were explained really badly before

Advanced wikigators:

  • Update the navigation portal with some more pretty colours and fun activities
  • Consider ways of making the site clearer and easier to navigate and get to work. Carefully, mind.
  • Create cool templates for different categories of pages
  • Add nice images to more pages - make sure we have permission to use them
  • Build some fancy tools into the wiki like what they have at Wikipedia, Wikinews and even Omidyar.
