There, a group of students and young graduates from around the world created a collaborative international partnership. Never Again aims to alert the international community to both the causes and the effects of genocide, and, to facilitate the exchange of ideas between young people: those who have lived through genocide, and those who wish to learn from them. Never Again aims to provoke ideas and action for the prevention of future conflict by bringing people together to cross borders.

Contents

Context

The project want to set up networked 10 recycled computers installed with win xp operating system and ms-office software and fulltime internet connection.

The Youths from that region will be trained on basic computer skills, applications and basic database management and will have access to small funds generated by the cyber café to facilitate them in organising their activities.. We will use the local language, Kinyarwanda which is also the National Language to train the youths. After gaining basic computer skills, we started training them on how to maintain their own information database.

BACKGROUND

OBJECTIVES

  • Addresses un-employment by creating opportunities for the youths, alleviates illiteracy and reduces poverty.

• Promotes peace and reconciliation among youths through the use of Information and Communication Technology. • Empowers the Youth to be self reliant through training provision and education. • Provides education and training in the Information Technology field to enable the youths get employment in both Private and public sectors. • Bridges the gap of the Digital divide between the poor children and the rich children by providing computer literacy. Rehabilitation of children/youths who survived genocide or displaced by war and tribal clashes using Information technology. . Create incomes for our clubs to sustain them selves

EXPECTED RESULTS

The myth that computers belonged to elites has been demystified by the fact that poor youths are able to access computers.

  • the clubs will get enough means to implement their own activities in other schools.
  • The youths will type CVs and educational reports for school/college leavers, thus increasing the digital technology usage.
  • Job applications will be typed as compared to hand written. This is because of the accessibility of the technology.
  • Professionals get their projects and manuscripts typed in these information centers or at least buy the computer usage time to type their work themselves

Thus helps professionals to submit their project and reports in good time and in a presentable manner.

  • Children get to this center to learn basic typing skills during school holidays and to play computer games.
  • A strong partnership between youth will be developed with Cyber/Internet cafes to help roll out the project a cross the country , thus wider
