Reflections
Rwanda Forum 2004 - Rwanda Forum 2005 - Wolfowitz Visits Rwanda Forum 2005
The Friend's Clare-Marie White met Paul Wolfowitz, president of the World Bank, when he visited the Never Again youth forum on genocide prevention in Kigali.
Following an address, Wolfowitz listened to questions and comments from the young people present and later discussed policies affecting African youth with one of Rwanda's Never Again team.
The conference participants were mainly youth from the Great Lakes region as well as further afield. Topics discussed included the history and causes of genocide, the current Gacaca process and participants produced ideas for the future of the region, genocide prevention, UN reform and international youth networks for peace. Clare will write about the conference next week.
